Dec 27th Chris and Raquel (friends from WI) came to visit for a week. In keeping with tradition we went to Crazy Women Canyon (Chris had never seen it). The canyon was beautiful. We hiked under boulders that can't be reached in the summer cause water rushes through them, we walked over crystal clear ice and the kids made their own frozen water slides. About 2 to 3 miles into the canyon I somehow managed to slide Jeff's truck off the road (he had to stay in town cause he was on call) and I did a REAL good job of it too. We tried putting sticks under the wheels but that only made things worse. All four tires were spinning and the smell of burnt rubber perfumed the air every time we tried to move. Chris said a little prayer to himself because he didn't know what else to try--then he thought of trying pine branches. We piled the branches under the wheels and then gathered around for Chris to offered a prayer expressing that we had done all we can and now we need some Heavenly intervention to help us out of the canyon. We all got behind the truck and started pushing. The truck slipped at first but then started to move. Jordan and Raquel were pushing from the side in the back where to tire was off the road and all of a sudden the truck started moving sideways as if they were pushing it right back on to the road. The back of the truck was anlgled perfectly back on the road.
Of course we gathered together again to offer thanks and as soon as I opened the prayer it felt like the canyon warmed, the wind stopped and we were encircled in our own little part of the universe--safe and warm. It was a miracle to say the least and a wonderful experience for all of us. McKenzie's words continue to ring in my head, "There is no way we can move a 1 ton truck" and to that I have come to only one conclusion--She was right--WE didn't.
We also did some horseback riding while the Petree's were here. It was chilli but lots of fun

Here is Zoey at 8 weeks--She's gowing so fast. Look at that face.
